Ice Fishing

Chequamegon Bay/ Apostle Islands shallow water Trout/Whitefish

The Shallow water (5-60 feet) of Chequamegon Bay and the Washburn/Bayfield shoreline is home to Browns, Splake, Steelhead, Whitefish and Lake Trout. These fish fight like no other and are great eating! The ice usually starts forming in front of Ashland during the first couple weeks of December and eventually works its way up to Bayfield by January. This is my favorite type of fishing in the Winter!

Aposlte Islands Lake Trout

The Apostle Islands of Lake Superior is home to some of the best Lake Trout fishing in the Country! Multiple fish days can be expected with the chance of a 20lber at any time! There is nothing quite like fighting a 20lb Laker out of 200 feet of water!

Inland Walleye Fishing

NW Wisconsin has many great lakes with walleyes in them. We target them starting at first ice in December and we chase them until the season closes in March. We target these fish using Beaver Dam Tip-ups. It is a lot of fun to spend an afternoon/evening chasing flags!

Inland Panfish

NW Wisconsin has a bunch of great inland lakes for panfish. Crappies and Bluegills are a blast to catch and are great eating. Early ice and late ice is usually the best time to target these fish.
